Scope

• Protection of PBX subscriber lines against induced voltages of lightning and getting mains 220 VAC onto subscriber lines.

Functions

• protection of two subscriber lines;

• active protection against affection of pulses with 1,0 kV voltage, 10 mks duration of мкс leading edge and 700 mks duration of half-drop;

• active protection against longtime affection of lateral electromotive force with 50 Hz frequency and 220 Veff voltage.

BZ-01 unit is connected into cutting of “a” and “b” lines between station equipment and subscriber line (preferably at cross).

At he moment of lightning pulse or 220 VAC induced electromotive force causes the increase of current in the wires which destroys PBX components when going through subscriber assemblies components. Current limiters A1 and A2 are inertia-less devices, so they do not allow current levels which are dangerous for PBX. Excess charge stopped by current limiters goes through the arrester to the “earth”.

This is protection of active type, so it needs power supply which can be PBX power supply. Option of power supply from mains 220 VAC via BP-04 adaptor is available (connection of up to 10 BZ-01 units).

Current consumption of the unit is not more than 80 mA.

BZ-01 unit is installed onto DIN rail.
